  • Syria: The UN's new envoy to Syria says that 500-700 civilians remain in the town of Kobane; warns of massacre if ISIS seizes the town. 
  • Syria: Envoy also says that more than 10,000 people stranded in Syria-Turkey border area
  • Ebola: Guinean man in Brazil with possible ebola being transported to special hospital unit in Rio de Janeiro. 
  • Korea: North and South Korea exchange artillery fire after shell lands in South Korea; some reports that NK first fired at anti-Kim Jong Un balloons launched by activists in SK into the North.
