1. WHO: 4,500 ebola deaths

  • The World Health Organisation says that there have now been 4,500 ebola deaths; disease remains widespread in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. 
  • Dr. Isabelle Nuttall, a WHO director, says 236 medical workers have died from the disease; 2,700 infected (AP).
  • WHO release on October 15th said there were 8,997 'confirmed, probable and suspected' ebola cases in 7 countries.
