3. Two of Abe's ministers resign

  • Two ministers have resigned from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's cabinet. 
  • Justice Minister Midori Matsushima and Trade Minister Yuko Obuchi resigned within hours of each other.
  • Matsushima accused of violating election campaign law by distributing free handheld fans; she denies breaking the law. 
  • Obuchi resigning because of possible illegal spending by groups who supported her political activities.
