- British Sky Broadcasting, BSkyB, has completed the acquisition of its European counterparts in Italy and Germany for a total of around £6.9 billion (€8.7 billion).
- BSkyB bought 100 per cent of Sky Italia from 21st Century Fox for £2.45 billion (€3.1 billion).
- London-based broadcaster has also bought 89.71 per cent of Sky Deutschland for £4.4 billion (€5.63 billion); 57 per cent acquired from 21st Century Fox.
- New company will have almost 20 million subscribers across the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy; 21st Century Fox maintains 39 per cent stake in enlarged BSkyB.
