Report: Abe to call snap Japan election

  • A report in a Japanese newspaper claims the Prime Minister Shinzo Abe intends to call a December election for the country's lower house of parliament.
  • Sankei say the decision on a snap election would accompanied by a decision to delay a much anticipate increase in national sales tax to April 2017.
  • Sales tax increase currently scheduled for October 2015.
  • Speculation that Abe will call election to win mandate for delaying tax cut; further entrenching 'Abenomics'.
