Dutch Bird Flu case leads to travel ban

  • Dutch authorities have banned the transport of poultry for at least 72 hours after bird flu was discovered at a farm in the country.
  • Disease found at a poultry farm in Hekendorp, which has around 150,000 hens according to Reuters. 
  • Dutch officials say the strain of Bird Flu found is 'highly pathogenic' and can be transmitted from animals to humans. 
  • Bloomberg reports that 16 other farms within a 10km radius will be examined.
