- Mario Draghi, President of the ECB, reaffirmed the central bank's commitment to tackle low inflation in the euro zone in a speech this morning.
- Speaking in Helsinki, Draghi said ECB governing council was unanimous in it's commitment to using 'unconventional instruments' within its mandate to tackle low inflation.
- Draghi: 'We have seen a weakening in the euro area’s growth momentum over the summer and the euro area economic outlook is surrounded by a number of downside risks'.
- In the medium to long term, Draghi said member states needed 'to further share sovereignty' in the economic policy realm.
