HSE requires extra €680m in funding

Ireland's Health Service Executive requires end of year bail-out

  • Department of Health to provide supplementary budget. 
  • Includes includes €510 million for the HSE deficit 'which reflects increased levels of activity'
  • Further funds needed to make up shortfall in non-government funding, these are described as 'one off' costs by Department of Health. 
  • €54m required to cover increased claim costs made to the State Claims Agency.
