FIFA bans Chuck Blazer from football activity for life

  • The decision was made by FIFA's Ethics Committee and excludes the former CONCACAF General Secretary 'from taking part in any kind of football-related activity at national and international level for life'. 

  • Mr. Blazer has pleaded guilty to taking part in a widespread corruption scheme and became an informant for the FBI in their investigations into football's governing body. 

FIFA Scandal: Swiss Attorney General investigating 'huge amounts of data'

  • Michael Lauber says at a press conference in Zurich that his office has seized 9 terabytes of data to date and that in addition to 104 banking relations of interest to Swiss authorities, Swiss banks have highlighted 53 further 'suspicious banking relations'. 

  • Switzerland opened a criminal investigation into criminal mismanagement and money laundering relating to the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups on March 10th.
