Overcrowding causes issues on London Underground

  • There was transport disruption in London on Tuesday morning as the suspension of the Jubilee line led to overcrowding on many routes - Bank station was temporarily closed as a result. 

  • While planned strike action for this week has been called off, Tube workers plan to walk out again on September 8th and 9th. 


Knight Frank: 'Subdued' activity levels in London property market

  • The property advisory firm said in a report released on Monday that tax changes, such as a rise in stamp duty on homes worth over £1.1 million, had contributed to a slowing in demand for property in sought after areas of London. 

  • Average annual growth of home values in London's 13 'prime central' districts was 2 percent in the twelve months to July 2015, compared to growth of 7.9 percent for the previous annual period.
