The organising committee for the 2020 Olympics in the Japanese capital have ditched the logo after a row claiming it was plagiarised from a logo designed for a Belgian theatre in 2013.
The logo was revealed on July 24th.
Logo for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics unveiled
Organisers say the logos symbolise the world coming together as one.
The unveiling of the logo follows the news earlier this week that the Olympic Stadium for the event will be redesigned due to spiralling costs.
Japan to redesign Tokyo's Olympic stadium
As building costs for the original stadium design for the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics continued to rise, the Japanese government has decided to scrap the plans and start afresh.
The striking original design rose in cost from around €960 million to over €1.8 billion.
It's not clear how much the redesigned stadium will now cost, but it won't be ready in time for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
